I’m Feeling is a kinetic artwork designed to help pediatric patients express their emotions. We worked with the pediatric nurses and staff to develop text that could cover a range of complicated emotions. The artwork has over 200 individually fabricated components that make up the entire piece.
Now And Later is a colorful moving kinetic artwork designed for the American Greeting’s LOOK AGAIN exhibit and to be permanently displayed at their headquarters.

TODAY I FEEL is a free standing kinetic installation. It's wheels spin freely from one another and give users complete freedom to display their "feelings". Oddly enough, the spinning skewers used to cook gyro meat inspired this piece!
The sculpture is roughly 6'x6'x6' and is made of 15 wheels, each with 30 sections of hand-painted alphabet and punctuation. It is made of plywood, steel, and acrylic
TODAY I FEEL was originally produced for Please Touch, a show at the Akron Art Museum on display March 2nd to July 16th, 2017. The show shook off all of the traditional museum-goer behavior and asks visitors to use their sense of touch to experience the exhibition. The spinning artwork is a 5'x5'x12" hanging box that houses cylinders linked by bicycle chain. By turning colorful knobs on the sides of the box, users can create different combinations of sentences such as "It's going to be the most fun ever because we are together!" or "It's going to be a little scary but only for a little bit". The two text cylinders with 5 sides of hand-painted text are each connected to the top cylinders of painted patterns that rotate continuously as the sentences are changed.

Dancing Machine is a teeter totter with attached characters that dance as you teet and tott! The piece was commissioned by Ohio City Inc. for the 2017 Ohio City Street Festival.

We created a set of mix and match stencils for Urban Community School to create temporary welcoming messages throughout the UCS campus. We used a variety of colors of sprayable chalk.
“I HAVE MANY” is an interactive public artwork that draws on So Fun Studio’s feelings of being overwhelmed (or not) by having so many things going on at the same time—plants, emotions, ideas, projects, emails, and on and on. Sometimes it makes us feel better when we tell others about whatever it is we’re having trouble with (or not having trouble with) by posting it on a rooftop billboard. The specific word selections in this artwork were chosen from So Fun Studio’s own experiences and stories we’ve heard about some of our friend’s experiences.
This “make your own mural” is a 5'x10' pegboard that invites users to add, subtract, and arrange colorful shapes to create their own art. The shapes range in size from 13" to 4" across.

A fun clacking kinetic artwork!
So Fun Studio was commissioned by the Cleveland Public Library to create a giant interactive birthday card to celebrate the library’s 150th birthday! The card was featured at CPL’s big birthday celebration festival on July 27th, 2019. The card has movable birthday candle flames. Participants could also write their own birthday messages on the card!

We’ve hosted a number of wheatpasting workshops with all ages - from kids living at Lakeview Terrace in Cleveland to adults in Grand Rapids! We love teaching others about public art and how to create temporary public art using just paper and a glue made of flour and water (wheatpaste!)
